The National Society of Black Physicists announces the formation of the Simons-NSBP Scholars Program (SNSP).
This 6-8 week fellowship program is a partnership between the National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP) and the Simons Observatory (SO). Every year SO scientists will mentor NSBP Scholars on research projects at the forefront of CMB Cosmology. The program is kicking off in the summer of 2020, hosting 10 Scholars for projects that will begin July 1, 2020. The deadline to apply for this program is June 22, 2020. This program is strictly for NSBP student members that are rising seniors in their undergraduate field of study or masters degree students.
The National Society of Black Physicists was founded in 1977 with the mission to promote the professional well-being of African American physicists and physics students within the international scientific community and within society at large. The Simons Observatory is a state-of-the-art CMB project that was founded in 2016 with generous support from the Simons Foundation, the Heising-Simons Foundation, and our member institutions.
