2019 NSBP Conference Banner 1200

The National Society of Black Physicists will be having the 2019 Conference on November 14- 17, 2019, in Providence, Rhode Island. The theme for this year's conference is "Promoting Professional Connections and Persistence in Physics." The NSBP conference is the largest academic meeting of minority physicists in the United States. The goal of the conference is to provide mentorship opportunities, increase participant access to recruiters, offer networking opportunities and inform the broader physics community on best practices that will be gleaned during and after the meeting. The Conference allows students to have close interactions with professional physicists and gain exposure to high-quality scientific researchers and presentations. In addition to being a meeting that promotes the persistence of underrepresented physics students in the academic workforce pipeline, the conference hosts many high-level research talks, provides opportunities for peer-to-peer interactions and allows students the opportunity for exposure to the scientific community. This year, NSBP has partnered with the Associated Universities Inc. (AUI) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) to help further extend the reach of our mission.

Sponsorship of NSBP Annual Conference creates the opportunity to develop long-standing partnerships. Conference sponsorship meaningfully supports diversity in science both in higher education and the overall scientific workforce. As a sponsor you will have direct access to minority undergraduates, graduates, postdocs, and early and mid-career minority scientists for recruitment.

We hope you will join us as we "Promote Professional Connections and Persistence in Physics."

Very best regards,
